The Brief
The assignment was to create a visually cohesive design system that work together that represents the identity.
Challenges Faced
The challenge was creating an identity that would be engaging and adaptable for different social media platforms, especially Instagram and TikTok.The brand needed to communicate eco-consciousness, community, and a positive, forward-thinking attitude. Additionally, the visual language needed to feel approachable to a wide range of people, including younger audiences who might be new to sustainable living.
The Approach
I began research eco-concious brands that have successfully engaged with audiences on social media, such as Good On You, The Good Trade and Reformation. This allowed me identify key design trends in sustainability marketing, including minimalist designs, nature-inspired colours and bold typography allowing me to develop a cohesive design system.
I also did competitor benchmarking to see where I could position the brand to bridges market gaps looking at brand traits such as competitors USP's, Strengths and Weaknesses.
Design Solution
I developed a color palette using earthy tones such as dark brown and white, reflecting soil from the earth and the purity of a trustable brand. The logo was designed using organic shapes that represents a tree and umbrella. The umbrella is to evoke a sense of community and the tree is to represent the brand in its dedication to eco-friendliness. I also created social media templates incorportaing logo, colors and patterns, with emphasis on engaging, shareable content like eco-friendly lifestyle tips, sustainable fashion news, and community stories.
